Father And Son Captured By SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S “PANTHER” Unit For Kidnapping And Assault On Female
On December 5th, 2020, Clayton County Police responded to a call in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers noticed that the left side of the victim’s face and ear were severely swollen and bruised, there were also marks on the victim’s neck consistent with strangulation. Dennis Roddy who is the father of James Roddy claimed that the victim (James girlfriend) was making advances on him. James then became angry and punched the victim in the head, throwing her to the ground. Both James and his father tied the victim’s hands and feet together while she was on the floor. Once tied, both father and son proceeded to kick and beat the victim while James grabbed the victim by the neck, picking her up off the ground and strangling her to the point at which she could not breath. James and his Father Dennis then discussed killing the victim and dumping her in a lake nearby. Officers observed yellow rope inside the home, it was cut in a manner consistent with being cut off the victim.
Officers inquired as to why Roddy and his father behaved in such a radical manner and were informed that they were frequent users of methamphetamine. Witnesses confirmed that James was a frequent meth user and has tried to kill people in the past.
Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite PANTHER Unit along with the Fugitive Squad hunted for the father and son dual today as a priority when receiving warrants for their arrest this morning. The father Dennis Roddy was taken into custody on Spring Dr in Riverdale on a traffic stop without incident. James Roddy was taken into custody on Evans Dr in Riverdale where he was hiding out in a pool house. James wisely walked out with his arms raised and was taken into custody without incident.
Now both father and son are facing the wall together as a family at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail which has been unofficially renamed “The Hill-ton”.
