Narrative:
On December 5, 2020, at about 8:20 p.m., the Thousand Oaks Police Department, American Medical Response (AMR) and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian injury traffic collision on Thousand Oaks Blvd. west of Skyline Drive. Upon arrival, deputies and AMR rendered aid to the pedestrian struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital by AMR. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased by hospital personnel. 
 
The initial investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Thousand Oaks Blvd. and the pedestrian was crossing the street in an unknown direction, outside a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle. The identity of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries and remained on scene after the collision. The driver is cooperating with investigators.  
 
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Deputy Jason Cashmark at (805) 947-8271.
