On November 28, 2020, a white male suspect entered the Chase Bank located at 7185 Hwy 85 in Riverdale, and past a note to the teller demanding cash. The suspect did not display a weapon, but stated he had tested positive for COVID-19, and that if the bank did not comply with his demands, he would began to infect everyone in the branch. As the employees notified police, the suspect fled the scene empty handed.
Riverdale Police Detectives responded to the scene and after intensive investigation identified the suspect as 51 year old Victor Hardley Crawley. After Riverdale Police obtained attempted robbery warrants for Crawley, the task of bringing him in was given to the elite Fugitive Squad.
Last night members of the elite squad went to Social Circle Ga. and took Crawley into custody at his residence without incident. Crawley told Detectives that he had fallen on financial hardship and just needed about $2000.00 dollars to catch up his on bills. Crawley is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail known better as “The Hill-ton”.
