DETAILS: Ptl. Erkoboni initiated a stop on a 2012 Chevrolet sedan for an expired registration after first observing that it had front-end damage and something appeared to be dragging on the road from the front bumper. During the stop, Jeffrey Tuttle was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing marijuana, three vape cartridges containing THC oil, and a glass smoking pipe containing burnt marijuana residue. Tuttle was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Robles observed a suspicious white van parked at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. Upon approaching, he observed the rear doors to the van open, and a hose running from the van to a tank belonging to the restaurant. Both Josiah Callahan and Ulysses Squire were outside the van, and immediately began moving equipment back into the van and disconnected the hose spilling cooking oil onto the ground. It was determined that Callahan and Squire were stealing used cooking oil from the restaurant. Squire was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag, and two prescription bottles containing marijuana were found inside the vehicle. Callahan and Squire were processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Zicha observed a Dodge sedan in the parking lot of the Clarion Hotel with its trunk and front passenger door open. As he got closer, he noticed someone’s legs draped outside the car door. Upon investigation, he found a male lying in the passenger seat. The person was found to be in possession of four glass pipes containing residue from crack cocaine and/or methamphetamine. The male had two warrants for his arrest from Trenton. The subject was processed at WWPD Headquarters. A drug rehabilitation counselor from Recovery Advocates of America was requested and met with male. The person was released pending future Court dates in West Windsor and Trenton.

DETAILS: Patrol units were detailed to Lowe’s for a fleeing shoplifting suspect. Officers searched the area, and Ptl. Hojnacki located the suspect, Alexander Cefalu, hiding in the wooded area behind the Whole Foods market. Investigation determined that Cefalu took two power drill sets, concealed them into his backpack, and then left the store without paying. Cefalu was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol units responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store on the report of an employee who was assaulted. Investigation determined that a customer entered the 7-Eleven without wearing a mask. The Manager asked the man to wear a mask while in the store, but he began arguing so he was asked to leave. Before leaving, the man picked something up from the counter and threw it on the ground and yelled at the Manager. A short time later, the man returned and stood near the front doors without a mask. The Manager told him again to leave and he was assaulted. The suspect was described as a black male with short dreadlocks, wearing tan pants and a black shirt.

DETAILS: Ptl. Mahon investigated the theft of a 2012 Nissan SUV from the Princeton Junction Train Station. The victim reported that he parked his car in the Wallace Pay Lot and took the train to New York City. When he returned three days later, he could not find his vehicle. He also could not find his car keys and believed he may have dropped them while getting out of his vehicle.

Investigation determined that Jerome Benanti called 9-1-1 reporting his kitchen was on fire and he could not get out. Responding officers forced entry into his apartment, but there was no fire and no one inside. Benanti was later located outside of the building. Benanti was charged with causing a false public alarm. He has a future date pending in Mercer County Superior Court.

He passed all points of sale and attempted to leave the store without paying when he was stopped by Loss Prevention. Taylor was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.
