Narrative:
 
 
Since January 1, 2020, Moorpark Station Deputies have responded to 21 traffic collisions involving impaired drivers. The collisions have resulted in 4 deaths, 5 injuries, property damage, and immeasurable harm to the victims and their families.
 
Moorpark Station Deputies are committed to keeping the roadways safe and take a zero-tolerance approach to impaired driving. Thus far in 2020, deputies have made 143 arrests for driving under the influence of illicit drugs, prescription drugs, marijuana and / or alcohol. Deputies made 179 arrests in 2019 for driving under the influence of these intoxicants.
 
Moorpark Patrol Station Deputies will continue to strictly enforce DUI violations. Although DUI enforcement is an everyday priority for the Moorpark Patrol Station, extra resources will be specifically deployed during the holiday season starting today through the first week of January 2021. Bottom line, don’t drive under the influence.
