Narrative:

On November 17, 2020, at about 8 p.m., Deputies from the Moorpark Station contacted and arrested two individuals at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Hotel for drug and weapons charges.

While conducting extra patrol at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Moorpark Deputies contacted Francisco Arevalo who is currently on formal probation with search terms.  Arevalo was with Rosalia Salinas. Deputies determined both subjects were under the influence of methamphetamine. A search of their hotel room resulted in the seizure of approximately 44 grams of methamphetamine which equates to approximately 440 doses of this highly addictive drug.  A loaded .380 unregistered handgun was also found in the room. Arevalo was arrested for numerous charges including possession for sale of methamphetamine and possessing a handgun while in possession and under the influence of drugs. Salinas was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, under the influence of drugs, and concealing evidence. Arevalo is currently in custody with bail set at $250,000. Salinas was booked and released from the jail on her promise to appear. Both subjects have pending court dates.

Moorpark Patrol deputies routinely conduct proactive patrol and enforcement at local businesses and establishments specifically looking for criminal activity. Partnership and cooperation between businesses and law enforcement are a proven and effective strategy at preventing and responding to crime.
