INCIDENT: Oral copulation of a minor under 10 years of age

SUSPECT: Arthur Brian Bowers, 66-year-old resident of Yucca Valley

VICTIM: Confidential

SUMMARY:
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, responded to a report of continuous sexual abuse of a child in the Town of Yucca Valley. The victim disclosed sexual abuse by a family member, Arthur Bowers. Over the course of a three year period, Bowers continuously sexually abused the victim within their shared residence in Yucca Valley. A search warrant was served at the residence where several pieces of electronic evidence were seized. As detectives began to process the digital evidence, additional crimes were discovered. Detectives prepared the case and presented it to the District Attorney's Office for filing. Bowers was found to have fled the state.

On October 23, 2020, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office filed charges of P.C. 288(a), lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, P.C. 311.11(c)(1), possession of child pornography, and four counts P.C. 288.7(b), oral copulation of a minor under 10 years of age.

On October 29, 2020, Agents from the United State Marshal's office located Bowers at a residence in the 7600 block of E. Long Look Drive in the Prescott, Arizona. Bowers was arrested without incident and booked into the Yavapai County Jail where he is being held on $2,000,000. bail. Bowers is awaiting extradition back to San Bernardino County.
