November 1, 2019 death of Marcus Graves still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to report it.
At approximately 8:50 a.m. on November 1, 2019, Sheriff's Office deputies and Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the Grays Hill Boat Landing regarding an unresponsive male in the marsh.
Upon arrival, EMS personnel confirmed that the male was deceased.
The Beaufort County Coroner's Office identified the deceased male as 16-year-old Marcus Graves of Beaufort, and on November 3, 2019, a forensic autopsy was performed at the Medical University of South Carolina.
The cause and manner of Marcus Graves's death were deemed suspicious by forensic pathologists.
The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of Marcus Graves's death and is asking for information from the public.
Anyone who may have been with Graves on the night of October 31, 2019, and/or the early morning hours of November 1, 2019, is asked to call Staff Sergeant Todd Duncan at 843-255-3418 or Crimestoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111, if wishing to remain anonymous and for possible reward.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public on the suspicious death of Marcus Graves, whose body was found on November 1, 2019 at the Grays Hill Boat Landing.
CASE HISTORY
At approximately 8:50 a.m. on November 1, 2019, Sheriff's Office deputies and Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the Grays Hill Boat Landing regarding an unresponsive male in the marsh.
