Two armed suspects were arrested for home invasion robbery and residential burglary in San Bernardino

LOCATION: 1800 Block of Dale Lane San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Kurt Duisen, 59-year-old resident of Highland
David Macias, 47-year-old resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): Confidential - 15-year old female, 24-year old female, 24-year old male and 68-year old male
SUMMARY:
On October 28, 2020, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a home invasion robbery occurred at the 1800 Block of Dale Lane in San Bernardino. The two suspects, identified as Kurt Duisen and David Macias, were armed with firearms and identified themselves as law enforcement officers as they forced entry into the home. Four victims were in the home during the robbery, which included a female juvenile and three adults. Duisen and Macias held the victims at gunpoint while they took several items from the home. Duisen and Macias left in a blue Jeep Wrangler and a white Ford F150.
Deputies responded to the location. Deputy Ortiz saw the vehicles driving on Waterman Canyon Road toward San Bernardino and as Deputy Ortiz attempted a traffic stop on the blue Jeep, a pursuit ensued. Duisen was driving recklessly without regard for the public’s safety and intentionally collided his Jeep into a marked Sheriff’s patrol unit. Duisen’s vehicle became disabled and he was taken into custody. Deputies recovered a firearm in the Jeep used during the robbery.
On October 29, 2020, deputies located the white Ford F150 in San Bernardino. Deputies received information Macias was at a residence at the 3200 Block of Roberds Ave. in San Bernardino. On October 30, 2020 at approximately 3:00 a.m., deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division responded to the location and served a warrant at the home. Deputies took Macias into custody for the home invasion robbery. Investigators collected evidence linking the suspects to the crime.
Investigators booked Duisen at the Central Detention Center for several felony charges including PC 212.5 – Home Invasion Robbery, and HS 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC 245(A)(4) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Investigators booked Macias at the Central Detention Center for PC 212.5 – Home Invasion Robbery and HS 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
