Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a man that occurred on Friday, October 30, 2020, at approximately 3:56 a.m., in the 400 block of Portola Street, San Dimas.

Detectives have learned deputies from the San Dimas station responded to a burglary in progress call for service. Prior to the arrival of the deputies, the suspect had fled the location.

During the investigation, a male adult had kicked in the front door of the location to gain entry. The suspect was confronted by the homeowner, and an altercation in sued, at which time the suspect was stabbed. The suspect fled the location and crashed his vehicle.

At this point, it is undetermined the suspect's intent breaking into the location.

During the break-in, several adults were inside the house but were not injured during the incident.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the relationship between the suspect and the homeowner has not been determined.

There is no further information at this time, and the investigation is still on-going.

NARRATIVE:

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to investigate a stabbing death of a male adult that occurred on Friday, October 30, 2020, at approximately 4:00 A.M. on the 400 block of Portola Street, San Dimas

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
