Narrative:
 
In the month of October 2020, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit conducted an investigation regarding illegal firearm transfers and a prohibited person in possession of firearms. 
 
On October 15, 2020, Detectives contacted Patrick Gear during a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Bristol Road in Ventura.  Gear was arrested on drug related charges. 
 
A search warrant was later executed at Adam Stroud’s residence in the 2500 block of Bunting Avenue.  During a search of the residence, four illegally possessed firearms, ammunition, narcotics and paraphernalia consistent with drug sales were all located inside the residence.  Stroud is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing or having access to firearms or ammunition.      
 
Adam Stroud and Patrick Gear were booked into custody at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Main Jail facility.  Adam Stroud was booked on violation of three counts of PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and PC 27545 – Unlawful Firearm Transfer.  Patrick Gear was booked for HS 11550 – Under the Influence of Controlled Substance and PC 27545 – Unlawful Firearm Transfer.  Both Adam Stroud and Patrick Gear have since posted bail and were released.
