**2020 Halloween Celebration Guidance from the NJ Department of Health**--Lt. Lee
Chief Garofalo and the WW Dept. of Health would like to share the (*see attached*) 2020 Halloween Celebration Guidance issued by the NJ Dept. of Health. Each year, the WWPD's goal is to have our Trick or Treaters be as safe as possible. As we approach 2020 Halloween festivities, we understand the safety concerns with Covid-19. The State of NJ's Dept. of Health issued their Guidance on October 5, 2020 for Halloween with Covid in mind.
On a related note, the WWPD will be fanned out as always in our neighborhoods on October 31, 2020 to assist in the safety of our Trick or Treaters. However, to keep our Officers as safe as possible as well as the safety of our Community, we will NOT be directly handing out candy as we have done historically. This has always been such a fun part of the job for our Officers but we will be practicing Social Distancing throughout the evening. Hopefully, everyone understands how much we will miss doing that this year and look forward to returning to our normal Halloween activities in 2021.
Lastly, please be aware that there will be many pedestrians out & about on Saturday October 31, 2020 (Yes, Halloween, Full Moon, and Daylight Savings time in the early hours of Sunday November 1, 2020!). We care about the safety of all of our travelers and Trick or Treaters. Happy & Safe Halloween to all.--Lt. Lee
