Giovanni Holmes & David McClain forced entry to a Highland home while the victim and her children hid in a bathroom

INCIDENT: PC 212.5(a) - Residential Robbery
LOCATION: 26600 Block of Ward Street, Highland, CA
SUSPECT(S): Giovanni Holmes, 24 years of age, resident of San Bernardino, CA
David McClain, 25 years of age, resident of San Bernardino, CA
SUMMARY:
On September 26, 2020 at approximately 3:00 p.m., the victim was inside her residence when she observed Giovanni Holmes and David McClain park and exit their vehicle. McClain was seen with a handgun on his person prior to walking up to the residence. The victim hid with her children inside the bathroom and barricaded the door. Holmes and McClain forced entry into the residence and stole a television and purse and fled the scene prior to deputies' arrival.
Deputies from Highland Station obtained arrest warrants for both suspects and contacted San Bernardino County Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division (SED). On September 28, 2020, deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division located and arrested both Holmes and McClain in the City of San Bernardino. Holmes and McClain were booked into West Valley Detention Center for residential robbery. Further investigation revealed McClain was a person of interest in an ongoing San Bernardino Police Department investigation for felon in possession of a firearm.
