* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 9 feet. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...Eastern Monmouth, Coastal Atlantic and Coastal Ocean.
* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, from 2 AM Sunday to 6 AM EDT Monday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, along with localized beach erosion, are likely. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL OCEAN ... COASTAL ATLANTIC ... EASTERN MONMOUTH
Instructions:
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Entering the surf is discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
