The reporting party stated they had seen the suspect, later identified as Douglas Kircher, with a shotgun and heard him fire a shot from outside the home. Deputies gave commands for him to drop the knife, he complied and was taken into custody. Kircher was transported and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Attempted Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Deputies located a rifle inside the residence.
