West End - Steve Cordero of Chino was arrested for attempted murder

SUSPECT(S): Steve Cordero, 20 year-old male resident of Chino
VICTIM: Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at approximately 9:25 p.m., the victim was preparing to leave for work, when he opened his car door, to find the suspect, later identified as Steve Cordero sitting inside the vehicle attempting to steal items. Cordero exited the vehicle and began slashing the victim with a knife, before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim suffered life-threatening stab and slash wounds to his head, neck, and torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries.
During the investigation, West End deputies identified and arrested Cordero at his residence. Cordero was booked into West Valley Detention Center for attempted murder.
