Deputies arrested Donovan Bowin at the Marine Corps Base in Twentynine Palms for unlawful sex with a minor

INCIDENT: Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor
LOCATION: 3400 Adobe Road, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT: Donovan Bowin, 20 years old, resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM: Confidential, 14-year-old female, resident of Fontana
SUMMARY:
On August 25, 2020 at 1:20 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station, responded to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in Twentynine Palms to locate a 14-year-old female runaway. Deputies located the juvenile on the base. Dovonan Bowin, who is an active duty United States Marine, assisted in the juvenile illegally entering the base.
Investigating deputies discovered Bowin had been communicating with the juvenile on the social media site and he paid for a rideshare service to transport the juvenile from Fontana to Twentynine Palms. Detectives executed a search warrant at Bowin's barracks room, collected evidence and then arrested Bowin for unlawful sexual intercource with a minor. He was transported and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $25,000. The juvenile was safely reunited with her family.
