Three Victims Shot Overnight in Irvington Area, Suspect(s) Outstanding
On Tuesday, August 25 at 11:15PM, patrol officers responded to the area of High St. and Main St. for a report of a shooting. Prior to officers arriving on scene, three adult victims had transported themselves to a local hospital. Officers contacted the victims who sustained serious, but non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were uncooperative and refused to provide officers with any information regarding the shooting. Officers were able to locate the crime scene near a park at High St. and Farallon Co. Crime Scene Investigators responded and collected evidence from the scene. Witnesses described hearing gunshots in the area, but none of the witnesses observed the actual shooting.
Detectives from our Homicide Unit and Major Crimes Task Force were called out and have taken over the investigation. The incident is being investigated as an attempt homicide. Detectives are also looking into possible connections between this shooting and the recent increase in gang activity in the city. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is encouraged to contact the Major Crimes Task Force at 510-790-6660.
