LOCATION: 1400 Block of South McDonnell Ave., Commerce
SUSPECT: Three male Hispanic adults and one female Hispanic adult
UNIT: Homicide Bureau – Lieutenant B. Dean
NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into a Deputy involved shooting that occurred in the 1400 block of South McDonnell Ave in the city of Commerce on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at approximately 9:52 p.m.
Deputies assigned to East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding a hit and run of a parked vehicle at the location.
Upon their arrival, three male Hispanics and one female Hispanic were observed standing outside of the vehicle involved in the hit and run. As the deputies approached, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at which time a deputy involved shooting occurred.
One male Hispanic adult was struck by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The suspect that brandished the firearm ran from the scene and is still outstanding. The third male Hispanic adult and the female suspect were detained at the scene pending an investigation.
No deputies were injured.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
