Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male Hispanic adult that occurred on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at approximately 5:11 a.m., in the area of District Boulevard and Randolph Street, in the city of Maywood.
 
Deputies assigned to East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding a call of an assault with a deadly weapon, gunshot victim.
 
Upon arrival, they discovered the unresponsive victim lying on the sidewalk from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
Detectives learned a second victim was transported to a local hospital and his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. 
 
Detectives are canvassing the area for potential witnesses and processing the scene for evidence, video surveillance, etc.   
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
