Update: Water system repaired. However residents are urged to continue to boil water until lab results are in.

Since 5:00a.m. this morning, repairs were made to the water system and pressure has remained consistent. The City of Shenandoah is now operating on the normal water system and is disconnected from the emergency system.

Under mandate from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), water samples are being tested. The City expects test results by 7:00am, Wednesday morning, January 13, 2010. Once these test results are confirmed, the City will rescind the Boil Water Notification.

City officials encourage residents and businesses to remain diligent about boiling water for human consumption until test results are received.

Updates will be issued by Code Red Alert and also posted on the City’s web site at If you have questions regarding this matter, you may contact Brian LaBorde or Rod Hainey at the City of Shenandoah at 281.298.5522.
