The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating a bear attack that occurred Saturday, in the unincorporated area of Santa Paula near Aliso Canyon Road. A man working at a local ranch was attacked by a bear and was treated and released for minor injuries. Wildlife, such as bears, commonly live near ranch properties and orchards. People living and working in these areas are encouraged to be aware of their presence and avoid direct contact with wildlife. In the event of a bear sighting, the public is encouraged to contact the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at (858) 467-4201.
