Pettis County Health Center

  • As of 12 noon on August 17, 2020 there have been a total of 625 cases reported so far in Pettis County.  This is an increase of 114 from the report of August 10 at 12 noon which indicated there were 511 cases.   This will be the highest weekly reported increase in cases.  There was one additional death of a Pettis County resident this week bringing the total to 5.   The final numbers for last week will be reported this afternoon.
  • The Health Center will continue to monitor cases and ask about attendance at the Missouri State Fair.   Community members who visit the Fair need to be alert to symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, sore throat, headache, muscle aches and nausea/vomiting/diarrhea.   If symptoms develop, please be tested.   This is critically important to protect our children as they return to school next week.
  • Comments have been made that families know what is needed to protect their members.   During a pandemic where the virus can be spread by people who do not know they are ill, activities such as wearing a mask, social distancing, good handwashing, avoiding crowds and staying home if you are ill protect the community, which in turn protects your family.   We need to work together as a community to help protect all who live, work and visit here.
  • The face covering rule remains in effect.   A copy of the rule is available on the Pettis County Health Center website and is being published in the Sedalia Democrat as outlined in the rule.
Bothwell Regional Health Center
  • Thanks to partnerships between Bothwell Regional Health Center, Pettis County Health Department, Katy Trail Community Health, Bothwell Foundation and United Way of Pettis County, cloth masks are available for free at the Pettis County Health Department for community members and businesses. Individuals or business owners who are in need of masks can contact the Health Department and arrange for pickup. We thank all of the volunteers who have sewn masks over the last several months.
  • Bothwell currently has 5 hospitalized patients at this time.
  • Bothwell continues to allow 1 visitor per patient during visiting hours. Visiting hours are from 10 am – 4 pm and all visitors must check in upon entry of the facility. Visitors are required to wear masks at all times and practice social distancing. If visitors refuse to wear a mask, they will be asked to leave. By wearing a mask, we can all protect our patients, employees and other visitors.
  • Bothwell Walk In Clinic (located at 3700 W. 10th St. in Sedalia) provides COVID-19 PCR curbside testing for all individuals. Any individual can request testing as a physician’s order is not required but we ask that all patients stay in their vehicle and call the number posted. Please be patient as testing is on a first come bases and wait times may be longer due to increased volumes.
Katy Trail Community Health
  • In addition to face to face visits we continue to offer virtual visits for our high risk patients.
