Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla encourages residents who need a COVID-19 test to schedule an appointment with Prompt MD at the pop-up site at 605 Jackson Street this Monday and Tuesday between 8 am and 3 pm. Testing times are still available, with appointments available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Results should be available within 2-3 day of testing. Residents do not need symptoms of COVID-19 in order to be tested.
To schedule an appointment, please visit http://www.hobokennj.gov/promptmd with a government identification indicating a Hoboken address, along with insurance information. If a resident does not have insurance, the City will pay for the cost of a test. Residents will not receive a bill for a test.
If scheduling a test for a child or family member, a parent or family member can enter his or her identification, insurance card and contact information. Residents who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment are asked to do so at the provided link.
Residents are asked to keep in mind that a COVID-19 test is recommended at least 5-7 days after a potential exposure, and that many who have contracted the virus do not have symptoms. Receiving a COVID-19 test prior to the 5-7 days after a potential exposure may yield inaccurate results. Residents are asked to quarantine until after receiving the test result. If returning from a state on New Jersey’s quarantine list or have had a high-risk exposure, residents must still self-quarantine for the full 14 days, even with a negative test result.
Mayor Bhalla and the City entered into a partnership with Dr. Islam and Prompt MD to offer COVID-19 tests during the month of August at 605 Jackson Street gymnasium. Additional testing dates will be provided in the near future. The testing through Prompt MD’s site will help alleviate the high demand at Riverside Medical’s testing facility under the 14th Street Viaduct, which is also in operation. Appointments can be scheduled with Riverside by calling the CERT hotline at 201-420-5621 Monday through Friday, 9 am until 1 pm. Riverside is currently utilizing some non-rapid COVID-19 tests due to national shortages of rapid testing.
