| Narrative: |
On August 6, 2020, at about 1:49 pm, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to an injury traffic collision in the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Quinta Vista Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered one of the vehicles engulfed in flames. The occupant of the vehicle that was on fire was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
On August 9, 2020, The Ventura County Medical Examiner notified the Thousand Oaks Police Department - Traffic Bureau that the adult male involved in the accident succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The identity of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The collision is under active investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Deputy Andres Trujillo at (805) 947-8272.
