Detectives investigated a drive by shooting in Needles that injured an 11-year-old & arrested one adult & 4 juveniles

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at approximately 4:20 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Earl Court in the City of Needles. Deputies located an 11-year-old juvenile inside the residence who suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was flown to a trauma center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Investigation at the scene showed occupants fired multiple shots from a vehicle as they drove by.
The investigation identified five suspects in the vehicle during the shooting. On July 30, 2020, search warrants were obtained for two separate locations in the City of Needles which lead to the detention of three juveniles. The investigation continued and a $1,000,000 felony arrest warrant was issued for Joshua Jacob Hernandez, for attempted murder.
On Thursday, August 6, 2020, detectives from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department, with the assistance of the Bullhead City Police Department served search warrants at two separate locations in Bullhead City, Arizona. Hernandez was taken into custody along with a 17-year-old male juvenile. Hernandez was arrested by the Bullhead City Police Department on various charges and is awaiting extradition to California.
