Today, Borough Officials participated in a conference call with senior Jesey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) staff.  JCP&L advised that they anticipate 85% restoration by midnight tomorrow and the vast majority of residents restored by Tuesday, August 11th.  Borough officials continue to work diligently to emphasize the urgency of getting Matawan residents restored.

JCP&L provided the following schedule of restoration:  Of the 2,594 customers currently without power 2,040 customers were restored today.  They expect 202 customers to be restored tomorrow, 172 customers restored on Saturday, 98 on Sunday, 61 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, August 11th.

Please be reminded to stay clear of any downed wires, even those believed to be no longer electrified as they could become re-energized during the restoration process.
