** 8/4/2020, Be prepared - Heavy Winds, Heavy Rain, Power Outages, Flooding (Turn Around). **
Welcome to Hurricane Season. Hopefully, we have all been preparing our generators ahead of time! I have met with the Mayor, Chief Lynch and the BA. The Emergency Operations Center will be monitoring conditions and providing guidance if needed for any possible problems which my come up. I would prepare for rain and flooding and lots of it. (Did I say lots of it! ). This is a Dorothy & Toto level 8 wind event so bring in lawn items, secure tiny dogs, and ground all flying squirrels.
Make sure you have the numbers to your local utility on hand so you can text power outage information and be updated by cell phone. Charge your devices and flashlights. Make sure medications are updated and in stock and make sure you have plenty of Fluffernutters premade. Please bring all garbage and recycling in before the storm hits.
We will be monitoring the exact path of the storm as it unfolds and provide needed updates. We are now sending messages as an Alert, as Nixle changed their delivery options and anything other than an alert will not go to text message.
