Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators responded to the death of a woman. The incident was reported Thursday, July 16, 2020, at approximately 2:29 p.m., on the 44000 block of Fern Ave, Lancaster.
 
Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Hispanic woman in Lancaster. 

On Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 2:29 PM, deputies from Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded to the 44000 block of Fern Avenue in Lancaster regarding a call of a person down in dirt field near the residences. 

Upon arriving, deputies discovered a woman in her late 50’s unresponsive in the large dirt area west of Fern Avenue. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman had no visible injury. Her cause of death will be determined at autopsy. 
 
Although the identity of the woman is known, it is not being released pending notification of her next of kin. 

There is no additional information available at this time.
