Operation Safe Streets Bureau arrests 3 in connecting with attempted murder of young mother in Lancaster.

In less than 12 hours, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies identified and arrested three individuals allegedly connected in the attempted murder of a young mother.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 15, 2020, Lancaster Station received a call for service of a young woman shot in the parking lot of a local business. The victim, a 20-30 year old black female, was shot numerous times in the upper body. The woman’s child, a 1 year old boy, was also located in the vehicle. While he was in the car during the assault, he was unharmed.

Lancaster and Palmdale Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS) detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. During the investigation, detectives identified three suspects believed to be involved in the robbery/shooting. The suspects were located in the city of Anaheim by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department surveillance units. After a short vehicle pursuit by the Anaheim Police Department, the suspects were apprehended.

Evidence of the crime was seized during a follow up search warrant, including a firearm. Based on the information gathered, detectives believe the female suspect acted as friend and set up the victim.

All three suspects were arrested, transported and booked at Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. All three have been charged with attempted murder, each with a $1million bail.

A big thank you to Anaheim Police Department for their assistance while our detectives were in their jurisdiction. And a fantastic job done by LASD’s OSS Unit! These detectives jumped into the investigation full force, swiftly identifying and arresting the alleged suspects. Their thorough and diligent investigation took three dangerous suspects off our streets and will hopefully bring justice for the young mother and her child.
