Narrative:

On July 9, 2020, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team concluded a narcotics sales investigation involving Tarcicio Gonzalez, who was involved in the sales of large quantities of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.

In June 2020, detectives began an investigation involving Gonzalez in the sales of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.  Detectives conducted surveillance and subsequently identified Gonzalez’ place of residence and a storage container associated to him.  Based on the investigation, detectives were able to obtain Ventura County search warrants for Gonzalez’ residence located in the 10000 Block of Lanark Street in Sun Valley and the storage container location located in the 4000 Block of Cohasset Street in Burbank.

On July 9, 2020, detectives with the Narcotics Street Team, with the assistance of the Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit, contacted and detained Gonzalez and his girlfriend as they left his residence and detained them pursuant to the search warrant.  Once detained, detectives executed the search warrants at Gonzalez’ residence and storage container.  During the search of both locations, detectives seized 16 pounds of methamphetamine, 275 grams of heroin, 32 grams of fentanyl powder, 222 fentanyl pills and 50 grams of cocaine.  Additionally, detectives seized paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales and $59,000 believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales.

Based on the investigation, Gonzalez was arrested for various narcotics sales charges.  Detectives found evidence implicating Mendez in the sales of narcotics and she too was arrested.  Both Gonzalez and Mendez were transported and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura County.  Mendez was later released after posting bail and Gonzalez is still in custody pending criminal proceedings.
