Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a male black adult and two male black juveniles in Unincorporated Gardena. 
 
On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 10:43 PM, deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station responded to the 15000 block of Avalon Boulevard regarding a call of a gunshot victim.  Upon arriving, they discovered one adult suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  The adult male victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition. 

Investigators learned that prior to deputies arriving two juvenile victims, who had been in the car with the adult, were struck by gunfire during the shooting.  The additional victims are reportedly 11 and 14 years-old.  They were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile victims are reportedly the children of the adult victim’s girlfriend.  
 
All three victims were traveling in the adult victim’s car southbound Avalon Boulevard at Compton Boulevard when an unknown suspect pulled alongside the car they were traveling in and opened fire.    
 
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle information available at this time.  The firearm used in the shooting is outstanding as well.
 
It’s unknown if this shooting is gang related.
