Burr Ridge Police arrest East Hazel Crest Man for Attempted Vehicular Hijacking - June 25, 2020.
On June 24, 2020 at 5:10 PM, Burr Ridge Officers responded to the area of 500 Village Center Drive where a victim reported two male subjects attempted to steal his vehicle, then fled on foot after being unable to get the car in gear. The victim in this case reported that he was attempting to sell his vehicle through an online advertisement when he was contacted, allegedly by Marshall, to meet at a central location with the vehicle. Officers located Marshall a short distance from the scene hiding behind a bush. Marshall matched the description given by the victim. A loaded firearm was recovered where Marshall was hiding. The second alleged offender was not located.
Marshall was brought to the Burr Ridge Police Department where he is being processed before transfer to the Cook County Jail, Bridgeview, IL to await a bond hearing.
Marshall was charged with Attempted Vehicular Hijacking, a Class 2 felony. Charges were reviewed and approved by the Cook County States Attorney’s Office

Burr Ridge Police have charged 18 year-old Rodney J. Marshall, Jr. of East Hazel Crest, IL with attempted vehicular hijacking after Officers investigated an attempted auto theft in the area of 500 Village Center Drive.On June 24, 2020 at 5:10 PM, Burr Ridge Officers responded to the area of 500 Village Center Drive where a victim reported two male subjects attempted to steal his vehicle, then fled on foot after being unable to get the car in gear.
