UPDATE: Charges upgraded to murder for shooting suspect

It is with sadness and sympathy for the family that the Forest City Police Department can confirm the passing of Aaliyah Norris as a result of the shooting that took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
Because of this new development, the criminal charges for Shaquille Marshon Francis have been upgraded to murder. His bond has been modified to a $10,000,000.00 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Forest City Police Department or Rutherford County Communications to speak with an officer. Information can also be sent to Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 286-TIPS.
