UPDATE: An arrest was made in a fatal traffic collision that occurred on November 15, 2019

DATE/TIME: Friday, November 15, 2019, at approximately 7:15 a.m.

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: Mountain View Drive and Terra Vista Parkway, City of Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Oscar Villa, 25-year-old male, resident of Rancho Cucamonga

VICTIM(S): Jade Abrantes, 21-year-old female, resident of Rancho Cucamonga

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed one count of Penal Code 192(c)(1), Gross Vehicular Manslaughter.

On Thursday, June 25, 2020, members from the Rancho Cucamonga Traffic Division served an arrest warrant and, without incident, took Oscar Villa into custody. Villa was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and bail set at $250,000.00.

On Friday, November 15, 2019, at approximately 7:15 a.m., deputies assigned to the city of Rancho Cucamonga responded to the intersection of Mountain View Drive and Terra Vista Parkway for a traffic collision involving three vehicles. Oscar Villa drove a 2006 Lexus sport utility vehicle east on Terra Vista Parkway. Jade Abrantes was a passenger in a 2010 Honda sedan that drove south on Mountain View Drive. Natalia Jerrett drove a 2012 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle north on Mountain View Drive. Abrantes and the driver of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Abrantes died as a result of the collision a short time later at the hospital. Jerrett was not injured in the collision.

Members from the Rancho Cucamonga Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the collision for an investigation. Through investigation, it was found Villa drove over the speed limit and entered into the intersection on a red signal, colliding with the vehicle Abrantes was in on the passenger’s side.
