Manuel Pacheco was arrested twice in two days on theft charges; a bail enhancement will hold him pending arraignment

700 Block of Broadway, Needles

SUSPECT: Manuel Pacheco, 30 year old male of Fontana, CA

SUMMARY:
On June 9, 2020 at approximately 4:51 a.m., Deputy M. Mckay located a stolen vehicle in Vidal, CA. The vehicle was stolen from Fontana and the report named Manuel Pacheco as the suspect in the theft. Pacheco was found walking a short distance away from the vehicle with the vehicles keys on his person. Pacheco was arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station Jail without incident. Due to $0 bail order at the time of arrest, Manuel Pacheco was released following the booking process.

On June 10, 2020, at approximately 7:18 a.m., a Needles resident working in the 700 block of Broadway realized his vehicle had been broken into. The victim reported that his keys and phone were stolen from the vehicle. Within a few minutes, Deputy D. Wagner located and detained Manuel Pacheco as a suspect. Manuel Pacheco agreed to take deputies to where he had stashed the stolen items. Through investigation, it was found that Pacheco had planned to return later to take the vehicle to Mexico. Manuel Pacheco was arrested without incident and booked into the Colorado River Station Jail for attempt auto theft and petty theft. Due to Pacheco's repeat offending, a bail enhancement of $75,000 was requested through the courts. Pacheco is now being held pending a court hearing.
