On 6/8/2020, at 12:11 am, a Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the Ojai Valley was patrolling the North Ventura Avenue area near Oak View Avenue. The deputy made a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle being driven by Cy Segovia, age 37. During the contact, it was determined Segovia was on Ventura County probation with search terms for a conviction of making a terrorist threat, resisting arrest and drug possession. The search terms allow for law enforcement to search his person, vehicle and property for prohibited items such as drugs and weapons. Deputies conducted a search of Segovia’s person and vehicle and found him in possession of over 10 grams of methamphetamine. In his vehicle, deputies located a methamphetamine pipe, a box of ammunition and a loaded 9mm handgun. Segovia was arrested for numerous firearm and drug related charges. He was booked at the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $110,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on 6/10/2020, at 1:30pm. |
