#ReOpenDC: Great weather to enjoy a park. Select DPR Locations are Now Open

In accordance with Mayor Muriel Bower's lifting of the District's Stay-at-Home Order and the start of Phase One, DPR outdoor facilities will be available for public use beginning Friday, May 29, 2020.

Like you, DPR is excited to begin this first phase and reopen our many parks and facilities after an extended closure. We look forward to welcoming residents back and appreciate your patience as we work to make sure all these public spaces meet our Gold Standard and are ready for our residents’ use. If an amenity at your local DPR facility is not ready immediately, rest assured we are working as fast as possible and it will be soon.

Starting Friday, May 29, the following DPR facilities will be OPEN with social distancing safeguards in place:

• Parks

• Athletic Fields

• Walking Paths, Hiking Trails, and Tracks

• Dog Parks

• Tennis Courts (Singles Tennis Only) - a rolling opening of the courts as we reinstall all the nets

The following DPR facilities will remain CLOSED until further notice:

• Playgrounds

• Recreation Centers

• Public Pools

• Indoor Facilities

Please note that during Phase One, while on DPR grounds, no-to-low contact sports (tennis) are permitted. Meanwhile, contact sports (basketball, football, soccer) are still prohibited until further notice.

The end of the Stay-at-Home Order DOES NOT mean the end of social distancing. Even while you're outside, enjoying a newly reopened DPR park or open space, please adhere to the guidelines below.

Please remember this is just the beginning of Phase One of Reopening DC and the Public Health Emergency remains in place.  For more information about DPR operations visit DPR.dc.gov/
