NARRATIVE:
On Friday, May 1, 2020; in a joint operation, Officers from Pomona Police Department's, SWAT team and Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF), served a search warrant at a residence in the 2200 block of Concord Ave. The focus of the search warrant was related to a residence in the neighborhood known to have recent gang activity. During the execution of the warrant, Officers contacted several adult males and females, some of which were engaged in drinking alcohol to the front of the residence at the time of service. Two of the males made attempts to get away from Officers, but were immediately detained and found to each have firearms concealed on their person. One was identified as, Enrique Renteria. Renteria was seen making gang hand gestures at Officers when he was being detained. Isidor Mendiola, was the second person to have been found armed. Once Officers obtained control of the scene, they were able to determine, Antonio Valadez was the person responsible for the residence. Valadez was found to have several firearms, magazines and ammunition in the home. Some of the firearms were non-California compliant assault rifles along with outlawed high capacity magazines. Valadez has an extensive arrest history for serious crimes; therefore, he was arrested and charged accordingly. One other person present at the residence was, Joseph Hernandez. He was found to have a NO BAIL warrant out for his arrest. Each of the listed persons were arrested without further incident and were booked into the Pomona city jail awaiting their court appearance.
