Advisory

Six suspects were arrested for Conspiracy, ID Theft, Stolen Property; two released per the statewide $0 bail order

INCIDENT: PC 182(A)(1) Conspiracy, PC 496(A) Possession of Stolen Property, PC 530.5(A) Identity Theft, H&S 11377(A) Possession of a Controlled Substance and PC 484G Theft by Use of Access Card

LOCATION: Lowes Home Improvement Store, 13251 Peyton Dr, Chino Hills

VICTIMS: Numerous

SUSPECT: Andrew Johnson, 26-year-old resident of Upland
Israel Angulo, 27-year-old resident of Montclair
Daniel Verre, 35-year-old resident of Upland
Loraina Ambriz, 27year old resident of Highland
Barbara Contreras, 36-year-old resident of Covina
Anthony Luera, 36-year-old resident of Adelanto

SUMMARY:

On Friday, April 24, 2020, deputies were flagged down by a worker at Lowes Home Improvement Store, who advised several subjects were in the store attempting to shoplift. Deputies contacted the above listed suspects in and around Lowes. Upon investigation multiple suspects were found to be in possession of paperwork, identifications and credit cards not belonging to them. Detectives investigated the items located on the suspects and found they were stolen in mail thefts, thefts from vehicle and residential burglaries committed in several local jurisdictions. Suspects were also found to have used a stolen credit card to make a purchase at Lowes.

All suspects were booked at West Valley Detention Center for Conspiracy. Johnson and Ambriz were booked with additional charges for possession of stolen property and theft by access card. Luera was booked with additional charges for identity theft and possession of a controlled substance. Angulo was booked on the additional charge of bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility. Contreras was booked under the additional charge of identity theft.

In compliance with the statewide Emergency Bail Schedule, bail for most misdemeanor and felony offenses must be set at $0. Because of this criteria, two of the suspects, Israel Angulo and Barbara Contreras were booked into West Valley Detention Center and released from custody following the booking process.
The other four suspects were held in custody.
