Pomona Police Department, Special Investigations Unit closes illegal marijuana dispensary and recovers a loaded firearm.

NARRATIVE:
On 04-16-2020 at 1227 hours, the Pomona Police Special Investigations Unit conducted Red Tag enforcement at a known criminal Marijuana Dispensary. This location has been operating in the City of Pomona without a permit and has been Red Tagged as an uninhabitable building.
Additionally, the police department has received numerous complaints about illegal activity occurring at the location. The police department takes these complaints seriously and makes concerted efforts to address illegal businesses and the related quality of life issues.
This location refused to comply with the city’s request to cease the illegal activity. Although the use of marijuana is legal in the State of California, the sales of Marijuana are illegal within city limits. These investigations are sensitive and all efforts to stop the activities are exhausted before Police action is taken.
During this investigation the team recovered in excess of 11 pounds of marijuana, over 30 pounds of marijuana products and (1) Firearm.
The Special Investigations Unit wants to ensure the community that they prioritize their investigations and address all crimes from city violations to serious, violent felonies.
