Pomona Homicide Suspect Arrested 
DATE / TIME: Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 1730 hrs.
LOCATION: 2000 Blk. of Las Vegas Ave, Pomona CA.
CRIME: 187 PC – Homicide
VICTIM: Male adult, 29 years of age, Pomona resident
SUSPECTS: Raymond Leonard Rice, 31 year old, Hemet resident
UNIT: Investigative Services Division

NARRATIVE:
On April 11, 2020 at approximately 1713 hours, Pomona Police Officers responded to the 2000 blk. of Las Vegas Ave in reference a reported victim of a shooting. It was learned that a male adult had been struck by the gunfire and transported to the Pomona Valley Medical Center by a family member. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
Detectives from the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The investigation identified Raymond Leonard Rice of Hemet as the suspect in the homicide. Detectives learned that Rice was at a residence in Hemet and completed a search warrant for the location.
In the early hours of April 12, 2020 members of the Pomona Police Department’s SWAT team served the warrant and took Rice into custody. Rice has been booked at the Pomona City Jail for 187 PC - Homicide.
