Malibu City Hall is closed. However, essential City staff, including the Emergency Operations Team, are working. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated on March 13 and is operating 7 days a week. Staff is answering the City’s main phone line (310-456-2489) but, due to the high number of calls, it is recommended that residents email [email protected] for the quickest response. DRIVE-THRU TESTING FOR RESIDENTS AT CITY HALL – WED, 4/8 – SAT, 4/11, 10AM-1PM (NEW TIME)
The City of Malibu and its partners, Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), Covid Clinic and Malibu Medical Group, are offering drive-thru testing at Malibu City Hall for residents of the greater Malibu community Wednesday through Saturday, April 8-11, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You must be in line by 1:00 PM. Pre-registration is required at https://CovidClinic.org, by text or phone at 310-853-1454, or by email to [email protected]. The testing organization asks that only those with COVID-19 symptoms pre-register. They will be asked about symptoms on site. This is meant to ensure that those with the highest need are prioritized for testing.

If you have health insurance coverage, your insurance will be billed for the cost of the test. If you do not have insurance, then a $60 donation is requested. The donation must be made at https://www.coreresponse.org/. No one will be denied a test due to inability to pay.
Any community member or business that would like to support this testing service for those who do not have health insurance may make a donation to https://www.coreresponse.org.

DIGITAL LIBRARY CARD AND OTHER LIBRARY RESOURCES
The LA County Library continues to offer a wide variety resources and programs for residents staying at home, including free online training programs. Residents who don’t have a library card can now get a temporary digital library card so they can enjoy all the available County Library resources. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCES
During this time of social distancing and quarantine, there are many additional risks for survivors of domestic violence and their safety. Now is the time for those who feel they or their family may be at risk of harm to be sure they have a plan. If you or someone you know is experiencing or in danger of domestic violence, the County offers many resources to help. MALIBU VIRTUAL REC ‘STAY AT HOME’ PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES – POSTCARDS FROM HOME
The Community Services Dept’s new Postcards from Home program helps people stay connected to the community by mail. Write a poem, send cheer, draw a picture, or send a photo of your favorite Malibu location. The City will mail your message and photo to others in our community, including members of the Malibu Senior Center. Letters and photos must be submitted by Monday, April 13, at 5:00 PM. The postcards will not contain the address of the person submitting the form. Submit online at MalibuCity.org/VirtualRec

LA COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH URGES RESIDENTS TO NOT GO OUT IN PUBLIC THIS WEEK, IF POSSIBLE
The Director of the LA County Dept of Public Health stated today many more COVID-19 cases are expected this week and over the next few weeks. She strongly urged all residents that have enough supplies in their home to skip shopping altogether this week and next week, if possible, or arrange for medicines and groceries to be delivered due to the significant increases in confirmed cases and an unknown number of individuals who may be infected without symptoms, but who can spread the virus.

LA COUNTY COVID-19 TESTING
Los Angeles County is making Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing available at several locations in the County, strictly limited to County residents who are in the most high-risk categories and most vulnerable. For people who prefer not to visit a drive-through test center, there are a limited number of tests available at a walk-in clinic. CORONAVIRUS PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE
The City of Malibu continues to monitor the status of the Coronavirus and implement measures to protect public health and safety and is doing everything possible to support vulnerable community members.  The City continues to follow the recommendations of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH), California Office of Emergency Services (CALOES) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is taking steps to reduce the likelihood of community spread. 

All Residents should be complying with the State’s “Stay at Home” order, and leaving their homes only to conduct essential business, such as grocery shopping, medical appointments. When it is necessary to go out in public for essential business, residents are recommended to wear cloth face coverings to help prevent the spread of the virus. Residents should also connect with neighbors, particularly seniors or those with underlying health conditions, to see if they need help in any way.
