April 6, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

Today there are 240 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Warren County; 16 persons have recovered and 7 have died.  Knowlton Township is at 7 cases.

On the Local Level:

  • A heartfelt thank-you goes to Knowlton Fire & Rescue for providing birthday visits with their firetrucks. The smiles they brought to children in Knowlton last week was a great thing to witness. Parents, let Fire & Rescue know when your child's birthday is and your street, and they will brightly light up the street and fill it with sirens to say "Happy Birthday" to your child.  To schedule a visit, contact Knowlton Fire and Rescue at [email protected] or message them on Facebook.
  • The state has closed the local DCA Construction Code office until April 20th.  This means there will be no inspections and there will be no permit approvals in Knowlton Township until April 20.
On the Federal Level:
Many residents have seen newspaper articles explaining that Warren and Sussex counties did not receive funds from the first round of funds from the federal government's multi-trillion dollar stimulus bill. A newspaper article explaining the situation can be found in a link below.  Senator Oroho and Congressman Gottheimer have joined together in a request asking Governor Murphy to rectify this by allocating some of the $15 million in "discretionary" federal funds to Warren County.  Please contact the Governor's office and ask him to support that request.  Warren County has more Covid cases than many other NJ counties and can use these funds to support the Covid-19 testing facility and purchase personal protective gear for our medical personnel.  Email the Governor at https://nj.gov/governor/contact/all/ or call (609) 292-6000.

(Please note: Individual stimulus checks to residents from the federal government are not effected by this.)
