Advisory

Until the Governor's Stay At Home order has ended, there is no soliciting permitted in the Village of Shorewood

Good Afternoon Shorewood,

While the crisis persists and the Governor's Stay At Home Order is in effect, there will be no solicitors, peddlers, or canvassers in the Village of Shorewood.   Any concerns should be conveyed to the Shorewood Police Department by calling our non-emergency dispatch phone number at 815-725-4636.

Once the crisis has ended and the Governor has lifted his order, we remind residents of the new proceedures we announced last year that require solicitors to apply for a permit.  Approved permits require all approved solicitors carry a copy of the authorization the Shorewood Police Department issues as well as the individual solicitor stickers we provide so solicitors can be easily identified by residents.  Furthermore, Shorewood Village Ordinance 3-8-8 sets regulations for the posting of no soliciting signs residents can display to avoid being inconvenienced by unwanted soliciting.

Thank you to all of our residnets for being our eyes and ears.  Please call on us if we can be of service.

Respectfully,
Aaron G. Klima
Chief of Police
