Top 3 Local Positive Efforts to Share Today from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC): • RHI gave a $25,000 grant to purchase PPE at our central source location at the EOC • Rutherford Outdoor Coalition members packaged 200 boxes and handed out over 120 boxes of food for Chase Corner Ministries. Thank you to Chase Corner Ministries for providing this much needed service. • A special thank you to some individuals sewing masks for health care workers. Each day the Rutherford County Emergency Operations Center report to you, the latest testing numbers as reported through the Rutherford Health Department. Today’s numbers are as follows: • 231 individuals tested • 189 tests are negative • 21 tests are pending • 21 tests are positive Numbers are going up as we do additional contact tracing when a positive case is identified. One of the latest positives is hospitalized at the Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Their statement is as follows: “Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS) is committed to protecting the health and safety of everyone who walks through our doors. We can confirm that we identified a patient who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The patient is currently in isolation at our hospital. We are continuing to work closely with the NC Department of Health & Human Services (NCDHHS) and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure the safety of our patients, the clinical teams who have been caring for this patient and all those within our facility.
