UPDATE 4/5, 4:00 PM – Drive-through testing at Malibu City Hall April 6-11. Senator Stern hosts virtual town hall meeting April 6 at 4 PM. Malibu Planning Commission meeting April 6. SBA disaster loans and many other resources for individuals and businesses. Stay safe at home.

Malibu City Hall is closed. However, essential City staff, including the Emergency Operations Team, are working. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated on March 13 and is operating 7 days a week. Staff is answering the City’s main phone line (310-456-2489) but, due to the high number of calls, it is recommended that residents email [email protected] for the quickest response. Thank you for your patience – we will respond as quickly as possible.

CITY OF MALIBU & CORE OFFER FREE CORONAVIRUS DRIVE-THROUGH TESTING FOR FIRST RESPONDERS & ESSENTIAL WORKERS
The City of Malibu is partnering with the Los Angeles-based global non-profit organization Community Organized Response Effort (CORE) and local medical providers to offer free Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) drive-through testing for first responders and high-risk people in the Malibu community. Testing is offered Monday, April 6 through Saturday, April 11 at Malibu City Hall in the upper parking lot (23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu CA 90265). No pre-registration. Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7: FREE testing provided only for
first responders (law enforcement, firefighters, medical professionals,
paramedics, lifeguards) and essential workers serving the community in
Malibu.

Wednesday, April 8 through Saturday, April 11: Testing will be provided
to the greater Malibu community for people exhibiting symptoms of
COVID-19 or people caring for someone with symptoms of or
diagnosed with COVID-19.


SENATOR STERN TOWN HALL APRIL 6, 4 PM
Senator Henry Stern is hosting a live town hall on Monday, April 6 at 4pm to discuss COVID-19 and its impact on our community. Topics for Monday's town hall will include resources for small business owners, unemployment insurance options, and workplace safety during the pandemic. Speakers will include small business owners, community leaders, and workers experiencing unemployment. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DISASTER ASSISTANCE
The Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to California small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email [email protected] for more information on SBA disaster assistance. Individuals who are deaf or hard‑of‑hearing may call (800) 877-8339.
Completed applications should be mailed to U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

DISASTER ASSISTANCE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES
There are numerous opportunities for individuals and businesses that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic to get help from government and non-profit organizations, including disaster loans, paid family leave, disability and unemployment insurance, delivery of groceries and supplies for seniors in need, and more. LA COUNTY COVID-19 TESTING
Los Angeles County is making Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing available at several locations in the County, strictly limited to County residents who are in the most high-risk categories and most vulnerable. For people who prefer not to visit a drive-through test center, there are a limited number of tests available at a walk-in clinic. CDC LAUNCHES COVIDView – WEEKLY SUMMARY REPORT OF US STATISTICS, NEW DATA
On April 3, the CDC launched COVIDView, a weekly report of COVID-19 activity that summarizes and interprets key indicators from a number of existing surveillance systems. The report, which will be updated each Friday, provides CDC expert summaries and interpretations of important and timely surveillance data to track the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. The City of Malibu will publish emergency information about the Coronavirus on the City website: www.MalibuCity.org/Coronavirus. Residents and businesses are asked to share emergency information with their Spanish-speaking staff and contractors.

CORONAVIRUS PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE
The City of Malibu continues to monitor the status of the Coronavirus and implement measures to protect public health and safety and is doing everything possible to support vulnerable community members.  The City continues to follow the recommendations of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH), California Office of Emergency Services (CALOES) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is taking steps to reduce the likelihood of community spread. 

All Residents should be complying with the State’s “Stay at Home” order, and leaving their homes only to conduct essential business, such as grocery shopping, medical appointments. When it is necessary to go out in public for essential business, residents are recommended to wear cloth face coverings to help prevent the spread of the virus. Residents should also connect with neighbors, particularly seniors or those with underlying health conditions, to see if they need help in any way.
