Narrative:

On Saturday, April 4th, 2020, around 8:43 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were working gang suppression within the City of Pomona. Officers were in the area of Eighth St and Elm St when they observed several individuals drinking alcohol in the street and sidewalk. Officers illuminated the individuals with a spotlight where SALAS ran holding his waistband into a nearby residence.  Officers were able to detain all individuals including SALAS who originally ran. Officers recovered cocaine hidden in SALAS shirt sleeve which was consistent with narcotic sales. Officers obtained a search warrant for two locations related to this investigation where TWO illegal firearms, a 33 round extended handgun magazine were recovered from prohibited persons. The search also revealed methamphetamine and cocaine consistent with narcotic sales.  This was a great observation by Officers and thorough investigation which resulted in the recovery of illegal contraband related to gang members/convicted felons within the City Of Pomona.

The suspects were arrested on the above indicated charges and booked at the Pomona City Jail.

The City Of Pomona is dedicated to combating gang violence and will continue to use all available resources to ensure the safety of our residents.
