MESSAGE FROM MTPD CHIEF & OEM COORDINATOR BIENNAS:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Monroe Township community for answering our call earlier in the week seeking donations of Personal Protective Equipment.  We received an abundance of well needed supplies from residents and businesses alike.  It’s refreshing to know that we can always count on the Monroe Township community to pull together under difficult circumstances,” said Chief of Police and Coordinator of the Office of Emergency Management, Michael Biennas.  “In the same vein as the community rallied to provide supplies, I am imploring all residents to do what is being asked now:  STAY AT HOME.  We need to maintain adequate social distances and refrain from social gatherings.  During this public health emergency, my officers are prepared to curtail all gatherings until this order is lifted – not because we want to but because we have to - for the safety of all.”

MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR MURPHY:
“Yesterday I spoke with Dr. Anthony Fauci. He was very complimentary of the approaches we’re taking here in New Jersey and stressed that compliance is going to be the key to us getting ahead – and staying ahead – in terms of flattening the curve,” said Governor Murphy.  “I know I sound like a broken record on this, but social distancing is our best offense and defense.  When you’re out, keep that safe six-foot distance between you and others.  If you don’t have to be out, STAY HOME.  New Jersey – What we’re doing IS WORKING. Look at places ignoring social distancing. Our measures are saving lives.  You keep staying home. We’ll keep working to expand hospital, ventilator, PPE, and testing capacity. Together we’ll FLATTEN THE CURVE.”
