Deputies arrest a San Bernardino man for stealing from a local Target

DATE: March 31, 2020 / 8:07 a.m.

INCIDENT: PC 666 – Petty Theft with Priors
PC 495.5 – Shoplifting
PC 148 (a) (1) – Resisting a Peace Officer

LOCATION: Target Store, 12576 Foothill Blvd

SUSPECT: Brandon Gay, 25-year-old resident of San Bernardino

Summary:
Deputies responded to Target for a report of a man who was inside using a box cutter to defeat security devices and packaging on merchandise in the electronics section. The man, Brandon Gay, was also seen putting more merchandise inside his backpack and then entered the store’s fitting room and layered on clothing from the store.

Gay left the store with the stolen merchandise where he was met by deputies. Gay ran through the parking lot and discarded some of the concealed items and the box cutter. When deputies caught him, he refused to comply with commands but was ultimately detained and arrested. Deputies discovered Gay was on felony probation for robbery. He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains in custody on $50,000 bail.
